Client Service Agreement & Terms of Engagement

Effective Date: 3 July 2026

Terms & Conditions Summary - read this first

This summary highlights the most important information about working together. Full Terms & Conditions apply below, in addition to this overview.

1. What I Do

I provide professional career guidance, coaching, assessments, and written reports to help you explore education and career options and make informed decisions about your future.

Career guidance is a supportive and exploratory process. It is not about giving you one “perfect answer,” but helping you understand yourself and your options more clearly.

2. No Guaranteed Outcomes

Career guidance can support your decision-making, but it cannot guarantee specific outcomes such as:

  • job offers or employment

  • university or course acceptance

  • scholarships or internships

  • income level or career success

Your final decisions—and the outcomes that follow—are your responsibility.

3. Sessions & Bookings

Appointments are confirmed once booked and (where applicable) paid for.

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be charged.

4. Payments

  • Fees are provided upfront or at the time of booking

  • Payment is required by the due date on your invoice

  • Work may be paused if payments are overdue

  • Packages must generally be used within 12 months

5. Working with Young People

When working with teenagers and young adults:

  • I aim to create a safe, supportive space for open conversation

  • Confidentiality is respected during coaching sessions

  • Parents/guardians may receive general updates or reports where appropriate

  • Personal or sensitive session details are usually not shared without consent

Exceptions apply only where there are serious safety concerns or legal requirements.

6. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in line with the Privacy Act 2020.

Information is only collected and used to provide career guidance services and manage your engagement with Bridge Career Consulting.

Sessions may not be recorded without the consent of all participants.

7. AI-Assisted Tools

I may use secure digital tools, including artificial intelligence (AI), to support research, drafting, and report preparation; together with using AI-assisted meeting summary tools to support accurate note-taking. Where these tools are used, participants will be informed.

All content is reviewed, edited, and professionally checked by me before it is shared with you.

No personal identifiers are used where reasonably practicable.

8. Career Reports

Reports and recommendations are based on:

  • our conversations

  • your self-assessment and reflections

  • career research and labour market information

  • professional career guidance expertise

Reports are intended to support reflection and decision-making - not to predict your future.

9. Your Role

Career guidance works best when you:

  • participate openly and honestly

  • reflect on your interests, strengths, and goals

  • explore options and do your own research

  • take ownership of your decisions and next steps

10. Intellectual Property

All materials provided (including reports, worksheets, and resources) are for your personal use only and may not be copied, shared, or used commercially without permission.

11. Changes & Legal Terms

Full Terms & Conditions apply and may be updated from time to time.

These Terms are governed by New Zealand law and do not limit your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable legislation.

1. Welcome

Thank you for choosing Bridge Career Consulting.

Choosing a career pathway is one of the most important decisions many people will make. Whether you are exploring study options, considering a career change, returning to work, or helping a young person navigate their future, my goal is to provide a supportive, professional and evidence-informed service that helps you move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

Career development is not about finding one "perfect" career. It is an ongoing process of understanding yourself, exploring opportunities, making informed decisions and adapting as your interests, values and circumstances evolve.

This Client Service Agreement explains how we will work together, what you can expect from Bridge Career Consulting, and what is expected of you as a client. It is designed to ensure we have a shared understanding from the beginning of our work together.

By booking an appointment, purchasing a service or engaging Bridge Career Consulting, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms of Engagement.

7. Nature of Our Services

Bridge Career Consulting provides professional career development services designed to support informed decision-making.

Career development is a collaborative process. While we provide expert guidance, information and recommendations, the success of the process also depends on each client's willingness to engage, reflect, explore options and take action.

Our services may include:

  • interpretation of career assessments

  • exploration of study and training pathways

  • labour market information

  • education and employment research

  • decision-making support

  • action planning

  • personalised written reports

  • practical resources and referrals to additional information where appropriate.

Career guidance is not psychological counselling, financial advice, legal advice, recruitment, educational admissions consulting or mental health treatment. Where appropriate, we may recommend that clients seek advice from other suitably qualified professionals.

8. Professional Scope of Practice

Bridge Career Consulting operates within the professional scope of a qualified career development practitioner.

Our role is to assist clients to:

  • better understand themselves

  • identify strengths, interests, values and motivations

  • explore suitable education and career options

  • understand labour market trends

  • evaluate opportunities

  • develop confidence in making informed career decisions.

We do not make decisions on behalf of clients, guarantee particular outcomes or recommend any pathway solely because it may lead to higher income, employment or academic success.

Career decisions should always take into account the client's own interests, values, circumstances, wellbeing and ongoing research.

9. Professional Standards

Bridge Career Consulting is committed to maintaining high professional and ethical standards.

We aim to:

  • provide accurate and up-to-date information wherever reasonably practicable

  • act honestly, respectfully and with integrity

  • communicate clearly and professionally

  • respect the dignity, diversity and aspirations of every client

  • maintain appropriate professional boundaries

  • continually update our professional knowledge and practice.

While we take reasonable care to ensure information is current, educational programmes, entry requirements, labour market conditions and employment opportunities may change without notice. Clients should verify important information directly with education providers, employers or relevant organisations before making significant decisions.

10. Bookings, Fees and Payment

10.1 Booking Services

Appointments may be booked through our website, by email, by telephone or by another method agreed between you and Bridge Career Consulting.

A booking is confirmed once we have accepted your appointment request and, where applicable, payment arrangements have been confirmed.

Some services may require payment before the appointment or commencement of work.

10.2 Fees

Current fees are published on our website or provided in an individual proposal or quotation.

All fees are quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) unless otherwise stated. Fees are not subject to  Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Bridge Career Consulting reserves the right to update pricing from time to time. Any fee changes will not affect services that have already been confirmed and booked.

10.3 Payment

Payment may be made by the payment methods advised at the time of booking or invoicing.

Invoices are payable by the due date shown on the invoice unless another arrangement has been agreed in writing.

For some services, including career reports, workshops or package bookings, payment may be required before work begins.

10.4 Packages

Where clients purchase a package of sessions or services:

  • packages are intended for use by the named client unless otherwise agreed in writing

  • unused sessions are not transferable to another person

  • package inclusions are outlined at the time of purchase

  • unless otherwise agreed, packages should be used within six  (6) months of purchase.

If exceptional circumstances prevent completion within this timeframe, clients are encouraged to contact us to discuss available options.

10.5 Additional Services

Occasionally a client may request work that falls outside the original scope of the engagement.

Examples may include:

  • additional research

  • significant revisions to reports

  • extra coaching sessions

  • preparation of further documentation

  • presentations or workshops

  • customised resources.

Where additional fees apply, these will be discussed and agreed before the work is undertaken.

10.6 Overdue Accounts

If payment has not been received by the due date, we may:

  • issue a payment reminder

  • pause ongoing work until payment is received

  • postpone future appointments

  • require payment before further services are provided.

Where reasonable attempts to resolve an overdue account have been unsuccessful, Bridge Career Consulting reserves the right to recover outstanding amounts through appropriate debt recovery processes where permitted by New Zealand law.

Clients remain responsible for any outstanding fees incurred before services are suspended or ended.

11. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Refunds

We understand that unexpected situations arise and aim to manage appointment changes fairly and reasonably.

11.1 Client Cancellations

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice wherever possible.

This allows the appointment to be offered to another client.

11.2 Late Cancellations

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice or no-shows may be charged the full session fee.

However, we recognise that emergencies, illness and unforeseen events occur. Where appropriate, we may waive cancellation fees at our discretion.

11.3 Missed Appointments

If a client does not attend a scheduled appointment without prior notice, the appointment will generally be treated as a completed session and no refund will be provided.

11.4 Cancellations by Bridge Career Consulting

If we need to cancel or postpone an appointment due to illness, unforeseen circumstances or events outside our reasonable control, we will:

  • contact you as soon as practicable

  • arrange an alternative appointment at a mutually convenient time; or

  • where appropriate, provide a refund for any prepaid services that cannot reasonably be delivered.

11.5 Refunds

We aim to provide services of a high professional standard.

Refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account:

  • the nature of the service purchased

  • work already completed

  • the reason for the request

  • our obligations under New Zealand consumer law.

Where work has already been substantially completed, including preparation of reports or personalised resources, a full refund may not be available.

Nothing in this Agreement limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or any other New Zealand legislation that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Workshops, Schools and Organisation Bookings

Separate quotations or service agreements may apply to schools, organisations and corporate clients.

Unless otherwise agreed, these Terms continue to apply in addition to any specific proposal or contract prepared for that engagement.

Where there is any inconsistency between this Agreement and a separately signed contract, the signed contract will take precedence for that engagement.

13. Working with Young People, Parents and Confidentiality

Bridge Career Consulting works with clients of all ages, including secondary school students and young adults. We recognise that career decisions are often a shared journey involving both the young person and their family.

Our aim is to create an environment where clients feel safe to explore ideas, ask questions and discuss their aspirations openly, while also encouraging appropriate involvement from parents or guardians.

The approach we take will depend on the age, maturity and individual circumstances of the client.

13.1 Our Approach

Career guidance works best when clients feel comfortable discussing their interests, strengths, concerns and uncertainties honestly.

For this reason, we encourage open and respectful conversations while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Where appropriate, parents or guardians may be involved in parts of the career development process, including:

  • understanding career assessment results

  • discussing education or training pathways

  • reviewing career reports

  • participating in agreed family discussions

  • supporting implementation of agreed next steps.

Our goal is to work collaboratively with both the client and their family wherever this supports positive career development.

13.2 Confidentiality

Information shared during career guidance sessions will generally remain confidential.

This means we will not disclose personal information discussed during sessions to another person without the client's knowledge or consent, except where disclosure is required or permitted by law or is necessary to protect the safety or wellbeing of the client or another person.

Confidentiality helps create a trusting environment in which clients can explore ideas openly and honestly.

13.3 Parents and Guardians

Where a parent or guardian engages or pays for services on behalf of a young person, we recognise their important role in supporting the client's career development.

At the same time, payment for services does not automatically entitle a parent or guardian to receive a detailed account of everything discussed during individual coaching sessions.

Where appropriate, we will provide parents or guardians with:

  • an overview of the career development process

  • agreed goals and next steps

  • copies of career reports and resources prepared for the client (unless otherwise agreed)

  • practical ways to support the young person's career exploration.

Where sensitive personal matters arise during coaching, these will generally remain confidential unless the client agrees they may be shared or disclosure is otherwise required under this Agreement.

Our aim is to balance the young person's developing independence with the valuable support that parents and guardians provide.

13.4 Situations Where Confidentiality May Need to Be Broken

Although confidentiality is very important, there are limited situations where we may need to disclose information.

These include where we reasonably believe:

  • there is a serious risk to the safety or wellbeing of the client or another person

  • disclosure is required by law

  • disclosure is required by a court or other lawful authority

  • disclosure is necessary to prevent serious harm.

Where it is safe and appropriate to do so, we will endeavour to discuss any proposed disclosure with the client before information is shared.

13.5 Client Consent

By engaging our services, clients consent to Bridge Career Consulting collecting, using and storing information necessary to provide career guidance services.

Where appropriate, we may ask clients to provide written consent before:

  • communicating directly with schools or tertiary providers

  • liaising with other professionals involved in the client's career development

  • sharing reports with another person or organisation.

Clients may withdraw consent at any time, subject to our legal obligations.

13.6 Professional Boundaries

Bridge Career Consulting maintains appropriate professional boundaries in all client relationships.

Career guidance is a professional service focused on education, career development and decision-making.

While career conversations may occasionally include discussion of broader life circumstances, our services are not a substitute for counselling, psychotherapy, medical treatment or legal or financial advice.

Where we believe another professional service would better support a client's needs, we may recommend referral to an appropriately qualified practitioner.

13.7 Recording Sessions and AI Meeting Summaries

To protect the privacy of everyone involved, coaching and career guidance sessions must not be audio or video recorded, without the prior knowledge and consent of all participants.

Bridge Career Consulting may use secure meeting technologies, including AI-assisted meeting summary tools, to support accurate note-taking and the preparation of client records. Where these tools are used, participants will be advised before or at the commencement of the session.

AI-generated meeting summaries are reviewed by Bridge Career Consulting and may be incorporated into client records where appropriate. They are used solely to support the delivery of professional services and are managed in accordance with our privacy obligations.

13.8 Respectful Behaviour

Bridge Career Consulting is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for all clients.

We ask that clients, parents, guardians and other participants treat everyone involved with courtesy and respect.

We reserve the right to end a session or discontinue services where behaviour is abusive, threatening, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate.

Where possible, we will first seek to resolve concerns through respectful communication.

14. Evidence-Informed Career Guidance, Professional Judgement and AI-Assisted Work

At Bridge Career Consulting, our recommendations are based on a combination of professional expertise, career development theory, current labour market information, education and training pathways, relevant research, and the unique circumstances of each client.

Career guidance is both an evidence-informed and person-centred process. While research and labour market trends provide valuable information, there is rarely one "correct" career choice or pathway. Career decisions are influenced by many factors, including a person's strengths, interests, values, goals, life experiences, wellbeing and changing opportunities.

Our role is to help clients make informed and confident decisions by presenting relevant information, encouraging thoughtful reflection and supporting exploration of realistic options.

14.1 Professional Judgement

Every recommendation provided by Bridge Career Consulting reflects professional judgement.

Recommendations are developed by considering information gathered through conversations, assessments, observations, client feedback and other information voluntarily provided during the career guidance process.

No recommendation is generated solely through automated systems or assessment results.

Professional judgement remains central to every report, recommendation and coaching conversation.

14.2 Use of Career Assessments

Where career assessment tools are used, they are intended to support self-awareness and exploration.

Assessment results should not be interpreted as predicting future success or determining a single "best" occupation.

Assessment outcomes are considered alongside each client's:

  • interests

  • strengths

  • values

  • skills

  • aspirations

  • life circumstances

  • personal preferences

  • career goals.

Career assessments are one source of information and should always be interpreted within the broader context of the client's unique situation.

14.3 AI-Assisted Research and Document Preparation

Bridge Career Consulting may use secure digital technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to assist with aspects of research, drafting, editing and document preparation.

AI is used as a professional support tool rather than as a decision-maker.

Where possible, and consistent with the needs of the service:

  • personal identifiers are removed before information is entered into AI systems

  • only the minimum information necessary is used

  • confidential information is handled with appropriate care

  • AI-generated content is reviewed, edited and verified before it is shared with clients.

AI is never relied upon as the sole basis for career recommendations.

14.4 Service Disclosure Statement

Career reports are prepared by Brigitte Bagg, a qualified career development practitioner.

Reports integrate information obtained through coaching conversations, career assessments, client reflections, research and any other information voluntarily provided by the client, parent or guardian.

Where AI-assisted tools are used, their purpose is to improve efficiency in research, drafting and document preparation. Every report is personally reviewed, refined and professionally validated by Brigitte Bagg before it is provided to the client.

Clients receive recommendations that reflect professional expertise and individual consideration rather than automated outputs.

14.5 Career Reports and Recommendations

Career reports are designed to support exploration, informed decision-making and future planning.

Recommendations are intended as a starting point for further consideration rather than a definitive answer.

Clients are encouraged to:

  • undertake their own research

  • investigate education providers and employment opportunities

  • consider changing labour market conditions

  • reflect on their own interests, values and goals

  • seek additional advice where appropriate before making significant education or career decisions.

Career pathways often evolve over time. Recommendations made at one point may change as clients gain experience, develop new interests or encounter new opportunities.

14.6 No Guarantee of Outcomes

While Bridge Career Consulting aims to provide high-quality professional guidance, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes.

We do not guarantee:

  • acceptance into educational programmes

  • employment or promotion

  • scholarships or internships

  • admission to restricted-entry courses

  • visa eligibility

  • professional registration

  • future income

  • career satisfaction or success.

Many factors influencing career outcomes are outside the control of both the client and Bridge Career Consulting.

Our commitment is to provide thoughtful, evidence-informed guidance that supports clients to make informed decisions and confidently navigate their own career journey.

15. Privacy, Information Security and Record Management

Bridge Career Consulting respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information entrusted to us.

We collect, use, store and manage personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and good professional practice.
